Brittany Matthews has a message for Chiefs critics: “Never doubt” Patrick Mahomes.
Following the Chiefs’ 41-14 statement win over the Raiders on Sunday night, Mahomes’ fiancée took to Twitter to call out those who have been critical of Kansas City this season, the offense, specifically.
“Saying Patrick is broken is ignorant. Saying the chiefs offense is boring is comical,” Matthews tweeted.
In a separate tweet, Matthews also responded to past commentary from Ryan Clark on ESPN’s “Get Up,” in which he stated that Mahomes “is broken,” and that “he’s the same as he’s always been, but that’s no longer good enough.”
“#weird,” Matthews tweeted, alongside a series of face emojis.
Mahomes returned to MVP-like form on Sunday following a few weeks of shaky outings, throwing for 406 yards with five touchdowns and zero interceptions.
“We’ve done it before,” the 26-year-old quarterback said post-game. “We’ve done it these last few seasons, we were doing at the beginning of this season. We were moving the ball and making a lot of stuff happen. We were just turning the ball over. Then we kind of went through a little little spell where we weren’t making these drives and we were still finding ways to win. I knew that we’re going to click back into it.”
Matthews, 26, enjoyed Sunday’s game from Las Vegas, where she sat beside Sydni Paige, the fiancée of Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu.
With the Chiefs (6-4) slated to take on the Cowboys (7-2) next Sunday in Kansas City, it’s likely Matthews and company will be there to support the team — and combat critics — from the comforts of Arrowhead.
